On site

Views:
Sunrises and sunsets from the Scenic Sunrise trail or Bledsoe can be an amazing experience on the right day.

Wildlife (deer, birds, groundhogs, turkey, etc. are frequently viewed because of the spring fed creek.

Hiking: We have three hiking options available on-site. Trails are mapped and mowed. Self guided Prayer Path is available upon request.
Note-please stay on the trails or Bledsoe, other areas are private or hayfield. Thank you.

1. "Old Cabin Creek" is the longest (1/3 mile each way) and most challenging, and heads down to the creek, pine forest, and old cabin ruins. Feel free to observe without disturbing the pine forest and ruins via the opening in the fence across the creak, but please do not cross any other fences.  There is a place to sit and take in the sounds, smells, and sights of nature by the creek or on Kathy's Rock. Deer, wild turkey, racoon, frogs, crawdads, and birds frequently are spotted here. The hike back up is exhilarating. In the evenings at certain times the frogs are an orchestra of nature to behold.

2. "Scenic Sunrise” trail is a short walk along the inside of the wood fence up beside Bledsoe Road to a bench at the top of the hill under the cherry tree.  A perfect place to experience a fabulous sunrise vista. From this vantage point you are at 2900 ft. above sea level and can see the long range views of Virginia and NC, including a closer view of Elk Mountain in Virginia.  Also, farm fields and cattle in the valley are a joy to take in.

3. Bledsoe Road is a dead end at the cattle crossing grate (private property).  The short road is a quiet and peaceful hike.  At the road entrance and stop sign there are great views to the west of another mountain range, and at the right time in the summer a beautiful sunset.
